Missing numbers 2004
De Top 2000 is een lijst met een prachtige doorsnee van de pop-historie. Vooral met veel oude vergeten platen en dat is de meerwaarde ten opzichte van de lijsten van jongerenzenders. Vooral niet teveel toelaten uit de laatste 10 jaar voorlopig.
Toch heeft de lijst ook zijn onvolkomenheden. Dat blijkt goed als je andere lijsten er naast legt, zoals die van Radio Veronica en Radio Donna. Een overzicht van belangrijke klassiekers die in de lijst hadden moeten staan, en dan nog alleen maar uit de categorie muziek die op Radio 2 gedraaid wordt, al zitten er wat twijfelgevallen tussen, vooral veroorzaakt door de samenstellers zelf door het toelaten van One van Metallica. Neem ook een kijkje in de lijsten van de jaren 90 en 2000-2004 om te zien hoe beperkt deze lijsten nog zijn.
De redactie van de Top 2000 krijgt veel commentaar over de keuzelijst. Deze pagina is een goed bewijs van de willekeur die daarbij gepaard gaat. Enkele nummers worden stelselmatig geboycot, ook al krijgen ze genoeg stemmen, dat is door hitsallertijden.nl getest. Vreemd genoeg werden Innuendo, Dream on, Nightporter, What's up, Dream on e.a. wel in de keuzelijst opgenomen, maar komen niet in de lijst terecht. Hitsallertijden.nl weet uit betrouwbare bron dat dit niet door een gebrek aan stemmen komt... Verder lukte het vrijwel geen enkele plaat om met voorkeurstemmen de Top 2000 te halen.
Klassiekers die niet in de lijst staan, maar wel hoog in andere lijsten en waarvan het een schande is dat de nummers er niet in staan.De nummers met een * zijn wel in de keuzelijst van 2005 opgenomen die flink ververst is na veel aandringen van de luisteraars en Hitsallertijden.nl! Nu hopen dat het een verbetering is.
